Re-Focus & Rise CIC is a community interest company dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for individuals who face disadvantage, exclusion, or mental health challenges.

We believe creativity can be a powerful tool for change — building confidence, improving wellbeing, and opening pathways to brighter futures.

Through inclusive photography and videography programmes, we support personal development, positive mental health, and emotional expression. Our work combines creativity with practical, skills-based learning, helping participants gain real-world experience while developing confidence, resilience, and self-belief.

We provide hands-on training, employability support, and business-focused learning within specialist photography and videography. This includes clear pathways into self-employment, freelance work, and careers within the creative industries. We particularly support individuals who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), as well as those facing social, economic, emotional, or personal barriers to participation.

At the heart of Re-Focus & Rise is a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We work to reduce barriers for people who are underrepresented in the creative and digital media sectors, ensuring our spaces are safe, supportive, and accessible to all.

Our activities include workshops, mentoring, community projects, exhibitions, showcases, and digital platforms that enable participants to build skills, gain experience, and share their voices. Alongside creative expertise, we focus on developing transferable life skills such as communication, teamwork, professionalism, time management, and confidence.

We work in partnership with community organisations, mental health services, educational bodies, and other stakeholders to maximise our social impact. All our activities are delivered for public benefit and in furtherance of our community interest, empowering individuals to re-focus, rise, and thrive.
